Nov 7 – Meet at Ikuko Boyland’s home, 2656 Francesco Way in El Cerrito. Not many flowers are in bloom but we are welcome to sketch in her yard or in her neighborhood. She would like to share the slide show which starts at 12:30 p.m. and all are welcome. She had an opportunity to see one of the prestigious exhibits in Tokyo during her recent trip and she took photos of more than 40 award winning paintings*
Nov 14 – Vineyard (for the Diocese of Oakland!) & view of Mt Tam
2540 Church Ln, San Pablo. This is an exciting new site and the staff at St Joseph Cemetery is enthusiastic about our visit! Take San Pablo Ave about 3 miles north from El Cerrito. Turn right at Church Lane. The site is on your right about 2 blocks. Go uphill to the area just next to the large Egyptian looking building and park at the top of the hill.
Nov 21 - Lake Anza, Tilden Park
Follow your favorite route to Wildcat Canyon Road and get onto Central Park Drive. Take Lake Anza Road to parking lot. Lake Anza is located between Brazil Building and the Carousel. Follow signs in the park.

Nov 28 – HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Our 2013 Outdoor Painting schedule ends for the rest of the Holidays, but we have decided that on any nice weather Thursday in December & January we will meet at Blake Gardens on the Arlington in Kensington 11-1:30 or so.
*The exhibit is called NIKATEN which holds exhibits twice a year. The organization of the artists were established in 1914. They have members in four categories – oil paintings, sculpture, photography and design. Painting category have 159 members and 59 members of sculptures. To be accepted as a member is a gate to become a professional artist. The NIKATEN opens to public and many emerging artist try to be accepted to this prestigious show. The 2013 Fall Exhibits had more than 2800 oil paintings entered and less than 1/3 were accepted to be in exhibit. 48 were award winners and Ikuko photographed many of those winning paintings. Each piece was huge about 7×7 feet. She also has a personal slide show of her trip including her nephew’s wedding…. and would be glad to share with anybody who might be interested in to stay on.
Anyone for bumper stickers? We have a new supply of magnet backed ecaa bumper stickers. $3.00 each and available at painting sites from Charlotte Britton. A good way to be sure you have arrived at the right place when we are out painting! Also they advertise our favorite art group. You can remove the strip and keep it inside the car between plein air outings.
