Bench, table facing Bay and the park lining the cove has tables trees, water and facilities.  Clumps of trees and birms provide shelter from the wind.  This location was a favorite for Betty Saarni classes.

We have permission to paint inside the building on the far side (away from the snack bar). Stray children may disturb out painting, but part of the fun.  Lunch available for purchase.   The Carousel (Merry-Go-Round) is on Central Park Drive, north of Lake Anza.  Enter Tilden from the intersection of Spruce/Grizzly Peak Blvd onto Canon Drive and stay right to Central Park Dr.   Follow signs to the Merry-Go-Round.

July 25th –SAN PABLO RESERVOIR– (Thanks to Helen Burke for this site.)

Enjoy beautiful scenic views of EBMUD’s San Pablo Reservoir at San Pablo Recreation Area in Contra Costa County.

From Berkeley, take Wildcat Canyon Rd past Inspiration Point down the twisty road on the backside to the intersection with Camino Pablo and San Pablo Dam Rd in Orinda.  Turn left at the light onto SP Dam Rd..  Do NOT take an exit shortly after the turn for the Boat Launch Area on right.  Go about 3 ½ miles to San Pablo Recreation Area, also on the right (east side of S P Dam Rd).   You may be asked to pay a fee at the kiosk.

El Cerrito residents may want to take 880 to San Pablo Dam Rd, go toward Orinda and turn left into the Recreation Area.

Drive a short way down the drive through the parking lot to near the Recreation Center.  Deck with views looking over the reservoir.  Basic food available at the café for lunch.

August 1st – MEEKER SLOUGH, Marina Bay, Richmond  (This is Meg’s Special Place.)
