The new documentary film, Coast Modern, will premiere in the Bay Area on Monday, October 14, 2013 at Rialto Cinemas Cerrito, 10070 San Pablo Avenue, El Cerrito.
Coast Modern is a documentary about the pioneers of West Coast Modernist Architecture. The film travels along the Pacific Coastline from LA to Vancouver, showcasing the homes that have become their legacies. Following the film, local author Dave Weinstein will speak briefly about Bay Area mid-century modern architecture, and host a discussion with architect Henrik Bull, architect Jack Robbins, and the Vancouver-based filmmakers Mike Bernard and Gavin Froome, as well as others.
Tickets are only $5 per person, and food and drinks will be available for purchase.
Coast Modern is presented by El Cerrito Modern, a local group that celebrates and supports modernist architecture in El Cerrito, and is sponsored by the City of El Cerrito Arts and Culture Commission as part of National Arts and Humanities Month.
