Peter Hewitt to present Paper Mache at the February 9th Meeting


Peter Hewitt was brought up in the Midwest, attended Grinnell College, where he minored in art. Soon after graduation he moved to Southern California where he pursued his interest in art. He learned silver smithing from the Hopi Master, Fred Kapote, watercolor and acrylics from several artists. Furniture making and woodworking developed from his association with several experts. Papier Måché isa  relatively new interest that he has developed under the supervision of M. J. Wilson. His creations are from his imagination. He is a member of the Berkeley Art Association, the El Cerrito Art Association, Richmond Art Center and the Pacific Rim Sculptor Association. He created first prize winners at the El Cerrito Art Show with a life size goat in 2011, and a life size burro in 2012.
In addition he has presented at the Marin Art and Garden Center and the O’Hanlon Center of the Arts in Marin. He lives in Berkeley, California.
The meeting will be held in the Garden Room of the El Cerrito Community Center, 7007 Moeser Lane, El Cerrito. The evening begins at 7 p.m.
