Creative ReUse Crafting with the ACC on July 4th

Upcycled envelopes

Upcycled envelopes using old maps

Join the El Cerrito Arts & Culture Commission at its booth on Pomona Ave (right next to the El Cerrito Art Association booth). This year we’re featuring a variety of hands-on make-and-take projects using fabric, ephemera, un-usable books, and other fun stuff gathered from the El Cerrito Recycling Center Exchange Zone.

Stop by to make stickers, magnets, bookmarks, collage masterpieces, and unique mail art. Learn how easy it is to make upcycled envelopes at home using old magazines, calendars, maps, and discarded books. Declare your independence from buying new art supplies – learn how to give new life to materials that would otherwise be sent to landfill or recycled! And beside saving money, creative reuse is great for the environment. All projects are appropriate for children and adults.

About Heidi Rand
I am a nature photographer. I use my photos of orchids, roses, native plants, butterflies, hummingbirds and much more to create painterly images and blended collages and designs. I love to use alternative photo and art techniques, such as printing directly or transferring to fabrics, metal, wood, glass and other surfaces. I make a wide range of useful and decorative things from my artwork. I show my work and teach workshops at my studio by appointment in El Cerrito.
