May 8, 2017 – Julie Cohn – Watercolor

Julie Cohn is a local watercolor artist with an active studio in Berkeley, and instructor at College of Marin, Kentfield. She will demonstrate her portrait expertise with a focus on lips, always expressive!

An innovative art instructor,  she enjoys helping others to find and develop their own creativity. For her, watercolor is a transforming medium, one that can penetrate to the soul of a portrait. Continually in search of meaning and depth in her artwork, Julie seeks to go beyond conventional portraiture to elevate and celebrate the unique qualities in each subject.

Julie has had extensive classical training in drawing and painting at U.C. Berkeley and California College of the Arts. Featured in numerous solo and group exhibits in the United States, her artwork is included in many private collections, the Alameda County Art Commission Collection, and is published in American Art Collector.  www.juliecohnartinstruction.com
