October 9, 2017 – Carolyn WarmSun – Abstract Textural Paintings

October 9th features a talk by acrylic artist Carolyn WarmSun with her abstract textural paintings inspired by nature, innovations and meditations. An Oakland resident, she is a member of the San Francisco Women Artists Gallery on Irving Street, among other Bay Area groups. She is also now represented by the Rumjahn Gallery in Evansville, Indiana, near her hometown.

Following retirement from other careers and organizational consulting, Carolyn pursued artistic journeys in dance, stone carving, and watercolor. These led to discovering and working with Maxine Masterfield, and a transformation to her current focus in fluid acrylics. Her exploration of Native American connections allowed her to choose her last name.

Carolyn paints alone in her studio where she may return to an old painting for a final flourish, or surprise herself with a new concept and technique . She has been recognized as an artist in publications such as Still Point Arts Quarterly, as well as numerous awards in exhibits and online competitions.
