Plein Air Schedule for August 2020

In keeping with California’s current COVID 19 requirements, we ask all
to bring and wear a face mask in public or whenever within six feet of
anyone else. Please distance yourself from others at the sites.

August 6 Tilden Regional Park Inspiration Point.
FROM BERKELEY take I-80 to the University Exit and go east towards campus. Turn left onto Oxford St., right onto Rose St., and left onto Spruce St. Follow Spruce uphill until it turns into Wildcat Canyon. At the intersection with Grizzly Peak Blvd continue straight ahead and follow Wildcat Canyon past the Brazilian Room, and the Regional Parks Botanic Garden, and continue following the signs to Inspiration Point. Meet in the parking lot to the left.

August 13 Point Isabel Regional Shoreline, Isabel Street Entrance
From 1-80 or I-580 in Richmond exit at Central Avenue and go west towards the shoreline. After you pass Costco the road curves to the right and becomes Isabel St. Go to the end and park on the road or in the lot. There is a great view of the Bay.

August 20 Delaware Street and 5th Street in Berkeley 
At this location there is a village of Victorian cottages and storefronts. FROM EL CERRITO take San Pablo Ave south toward Berkeley. At Gilman St. turn right and continue to the light at 6th St.. Turn left onto 6th St., and right onto Delaware. Look for parking in the neighborhood or in the lots behind the stores on 4th St. Meet at the corner of Delaware and 5th St.

August 27 Albany State Marine Reserve, 1 Buchanan Street, Albany (aka Albany Bulb)
From I-80E driving north, exit at Buchanan Street. Turn left at the end of the ramp onto Buchanan Street. Continue under the freeway, driving 0.4 miles towards the Bay and the north side of Golden Gate Field. Continue to a parking area at the end of Buchanan Street. Look for the large metal sculpture of the three shorebirds. Driving south on San Pablo Avenue, turn right on Buchanan Street and continue to its end. There is also new parking at the end to the left. You can hike up to the top of the new path and paint the view from the new rest area where there are benches and a picnic table.
