Plein Air Schedule for October 2020

We meet Thursdays 11am – 1pm and welcome all artists. In keeping with COVID-19 state requirements, we ask all to bring and wear a face mask in public or whenever within six feet of anyone else. Please distance yourself from others at the sites.

October 1: Berkeley North Branch Library,1170 The Alameda. The cross street is Hopkins St. This is a favorite fall color location and a chance to draw the sycamore trees, the library and surrounding environs.

October 8: Hopkins Street, at Colusa Ave, Berkeley. This is a great place to draw the beautiful sycamore trees in their fall colors as they form an arch along Hopkins Street. Meet at the benches in front of the tennis courts.

October 15: King Court, El Cerrito. From Arlington Blvd turn downhill (west) onto Moeser Lane, then right onto King Drive. After Shevlin Drive bear left onto King Court and park at the dead end. From San Pablo Avenue turn uphill (east) onto Moeser Lane, then left onto King Drive, and bear left onto King Court. Park and meet at the end of King Court.

October 22: Meeker Slough, Richmond. From Berkeley, take I-80 north. Use the right two lanes to merge onto I-580 toward the Richmond Bridge. Take the South 23rd Street/Marina Bay exit off I-580. Use the left two lanes to turn left onto Marina Bay Parkway at the signal light. Continue on Marina Bay Parkway, crossing Regatta Boulevard (4th traffic light). Turn left onto Bayside Drive. Continue to the end where there is a small area to park and a path that leads to the slough.

October 29: Live Oak Park, 1301 Shattuck Ave., Berkeley, between Berryman St. and Eunice St. Live Oak Park and Codornices Creek offer countless classic East Bay views.
