We meet Thursdays 11 am – 1 pm and welcome all artists.
Even though CDC and State regulations have been rescinded, we ask that everyone continue to bring and use masks if required or as needed at the site.
July 1: Berkeley Country Club “Wedding Deck” 7901 Cutting Blvd, El Cerrito. We have been here before when it was called Mira Vista, but it has now resumed the original name. The large lower deck to the left of the clubhouse overlooks part of the course, with views of Mt Tamalpais, bridges, and bays. There is a full plexiglass windscreen and a few umbrellas. Oil painters, please bring a drop cloth. Restrooms are available in the clubhouse. Masks requested while indoors unless eating. Lunch afterward 1:30 option, cash or cards accepted. July 8: Blake Garden, 70 Rincon Road, Kensington. Let’s check out Blake Gardens after our long recess! Directions: From the north, take Arlington Avenue to Kensington and turn right onto Rincon Road. Then turn right again into the driveway for the Blake Garden parking lot. Coming from the south, this is the flashing light at the Kensington Library. Turn left shortly before the flashing light onto Rincon Road. Then turn left into the driveway for the Blake Garden parking lot. Rincon Road meets Arlington Avenue both north and south of the big church on the west side of Arlington Avenue. Restrooms are located at the greenhouse.
July 15: 500 Balra, El Cerrito Another tradition resumed, of painting at El Cerrito Garden Club’s Sundar Shadi Award-winning gardens. The owner works at Annie’s Annuals so there is a mass of colorful flowers and plants. She is always planting more for seasonal, and deer munched replacements. A side and back garden includes small nooks with featured plants, several handmade benches, and other special features to discover.
July 22: Blake Garden, 70 Rincon Road, Kensington. Let’s return to the Gardens again! Directions: See July 8. Restrooms are located at the greenhouse.
July 29: Alvarado Park. 5755 McBryde Ave. Richmond. From El Cerrito/Richmond or N. Oakland/Berkeley take Arlington Avenue to McBryde and turn up the hill toward the park. From Hwy 80 or San Pablo Avenue turn East onto McBryde uphill to the entrance. Restrooms available.
