About

The El Cerrito Art Association supports the arts and artists in the East Bay. Our members live in the area surrounding El Cerrito and include artists who paint, draw, take photographs, sculpt, create mixed media and digital images.

The organization’s programs include:

  • Monthly Meetings
We meet monthly from February to November on the second Monday of the month from 7 until 9 p.m. Each meeting features a mini art show of member works and a program or demonstration by an artist.
Meetings are at the Community Center, 7007 Moeser Lane, El Cerrito. The door opens at 7 p.m. Check-in deadline for the mini art show is 7:15 p.m. The program follows at 7:30 p.m.
  • Annual Art Show and Sale
Each October the association sponsors an art show open to all artists working in a wide range of media. In recent years the show has been host to almost 350 works by by more than 100 artists from around the East Bay. Dates and categories are announced each year in early summer.
  • Plein Air Painting Group
Our Plein Air painting group meets Thursdays at 11 a.m. during the good-weather months of the year. Painting locations are announced on the ECAA website and in The Palette newsletter. The group welcomes everybody from watercolorists to  acrylic painters, graphic artists to photographers. Come and paint or draw or take photos.
