El Cerrito artist Rich Fowler headlines the program for Sept 10th with a a linocut printmaking demonstration. He’ll discuss the process and demonstrate a variety of techniques and also plans a hands-on opportunity for some of us to pull a print on an etching press.
A passion for travel and the outdoors drives his work. He is fascinated by patterns derived from nature and geometry and inspired by the process of carving, where experiments and color add a layer of abstraction.
A member of the El Cerrito Art Association and the California Society of Printmakers, he also teaches an online linocut course for beginners.
His work has been used on the set of a major TV production, for ECAA’s October show publicity and can be found in private collections around the world. www.BoardingAllRows.com
