June 10th Tom Killion – Printmaking Lecture 7 – 9 pm

Presenting California’s Wild Landscape in Japanese-Style Woodblock Prints, a slide lecture by Marin County printmaker and publisher Tom Killion.  He will also share some of the blocks, sets of progressive proofs and prints in a discussion of his artistic inspiration and techniques.

The Marin County terrain where Tom grew up inspired early landscape prints of traditional Japanese style, further developed by extensive studies and travel in Europe and Africa. He founded Quail Press in 1975 and has since printed five handmade art books and well over 400 relief prints. Collaborating with the poet Gary Snyder, he has published “The High Sierra of California”, “Tamalpais Walking” and “California’s Wild Edge”.

We look forward to an evening talk by this educator, African historian and internationally known printmaker, artwork now on exhibit at Book Passages, Corte Madera, through 2019. https://tomkillion.com
