Oct. 14: Elaine Miller Bond – Photographer 7 – 9 pm

El Cerrito Art Association presents Elaine Miller Bond as our guest speaker at our next meeting.  A local photographer and writer, the theme of her talk will be, “How I stay inspired, How one photo I took in Point Reyes led to a children’s book and How I learned the craft of photography by spending 3 months snapping pictures of prairie dogs in the wild.”

Her books celebrate wildlife as majestic as snow leopards, as humble as earthworms, and the lessons we can learn from them. Her photos have appeared on Discovery Channel Canada and her publishing credits include Science, NPR, BBC Earth News, the American Naturalist, the Washington Post, Journal of Mammalogy, and Berkeleyside.

Beginning as a senior science writer for the University of California Natural Reserve System, Bond now works independently. She has published several children’s books and continues to search the creeks for newts and follow the paw prints of the coyotes.
