Plein Air for April 2022

We meet Thursdays 11 am – 1 pm and welcome all artists. Please follow the current Covid guidelines for Contra Costa County to stay safe.

April 7: AQUATIC PARK, City of Berkeley

Meet at the intersection of Addison and Bolivar, nearest address is 605 Addison. This is a public park created by the Works Progress Administration in the 1930s. From here you can draw views of the water, the footbridge over the freeway and the buildings.  The new benches face the water.  From San Pablo Ave turn west towards the Bay on Cedar St. Turn left on Fourth St. Go past the old Spengers on the left and cross under the freeway at University. Take the first right onto Addison.  Cross the railroad tracks and the street dead ends into Aquatic Park at Bolivar.  Turn left and park on the left side. 

April 14: TILDEN REGIONAL PARK – INSPIRATION POINT

Take I-80 to the University Exit and go east toward campus. Turn left onto Oxford St., right onto Rose St. and left onto Spruce St. Follow Spruce St. uphill. Continue straight ahead at the Grizzly Peak Blvd. intersection t and follow Wildcat Canyon Road past the Brazilian Room, and the Regional Parks Botanic Garden, and continue following the signs to Inspiration Point. Meet in the parking lot to the left.

April 21: SHOREBIRD PARK, 160 UNIVERSITY AVE. BERKELEY

Take University Ave west towards the Bay and turn left onto Seawall Dr. at the end. Park along Seawall Drive.  Go east along the walking path towards the South Sailing Basin.  There are several interesting aquatic and hillside views along the waterfront.

April 28: LIVE OAK PARK, 1301 SHATTUCK AVE (between Berryman and Eunice) Live Oak Park and Codornices Creek offer countless classic East Bay views.
