We meet at the site on Thursdays 11 am – 1 pm and welcome all artists. We’ll resume meeting afterward at the site to share our work with each other at 1 pm.
Sept 5: 7317 Cutting Blvd (up near the golf club) This modernist ranch residence is one of two winners of the Sundar Shadi Award by the EC Garden Club: Great panoramic views of the bay and views uphill of the golf club. Plenty of parking on the street.
Sept 12: Hopkins Street at Colusa Avenue, Berkeley. This is a great place to draw the beautiful sycamore trees in their fall colors as they form an arch along Hopkins Street. Meet at the benches in front of the tennis courts.
*Sept 19: Regional Parks Botanic Garden, Tilden Regional Park, Shasta Rd., Berkeley. From the Marin Traffic Circle take Marin Avenue up to Grizzly Peak Boulevard. Turn right (south) onto Grizzly Peak, then left onto Shasta Road. The Garden is just east of The Brazilian Room where Shasta Road becomes Wildcat Canyon Road. From Berkeley or points south take I-80 to the University Avenue Exit and turn towards the hills. Continue on University Avenue and turn left onto Oxford Street, then right onto Rose Street, and then left onto Spruce Street. Follow Spruce uphill till it turns into Wildcat Canyon Road. The Garden is at the intersection of Wildcat Canyon Road and South Park Drive. The parking lot is on the right.
*September 26: Sue Otten’s backyard deck, 2227 Cypress Ave, San Pablo
The deck overlooks San Pablo Bay with panoramic views of the Bay Trail, Mt. Tam, Point Pinole, Sonoma County.
Directions: North on I-80 to Appian Way exit. Turn left onto Appian Way west to San Pablo Ave. Turn left onto San Pablo Ave. Head south to Del Monte Drive and turn right. (The Embers restaurant is on the corner) Take Del Monte Drive to Meadowlark Street, turn left onto Meadowlark, then left again onto Cypress Ave. 2227 Cypress is immediately on the right. Park on the street. Bring a brown bag lunch and there will be water, coffee and tea available.
