We meet at the site on Thursdays 11 am – 1 pm and welcome all artists. We’ll resume meeting afterward at the site to share our work with each other at 1 pm.
May 2: City of Berkeley Rose Garden* near 1200 Euclid Ave. Berkeley
Across from Codornices Park in Northeast Berkeley. This is a timely place to paint so close to Mother’s Day! From 1-80 take the University Ave. exit in Berkeley and follow east towards the hills. Turn left on Oxford Ave., then right on Rose Street, left on Spruce Street, then right on Eunice Ave.
May 9: Lake Anza, Tilden Park*
There is scenery of the lake and trees. From Arlington Ave, turn left onto Kenyon Ave, then right onto Purdue Ave.
Turn left at Beloit Ave, then right onto Grizzly Peak Blvd. Turn left onto Wildcat Canyon Rd. Turn left at the Stop sign onto Cental Park Rd. then a slight right onto Lake Anza Rd. Turn right into the parking lot. We will meet near the water.
May 16: Meeker Slough, Richmond
From Berkeley, take I-80 north. Use the right two lanes to merge onto I-580 toward Richmond Bridge. Take the South 23rd St/Marina Bay exit. Use the left two lanes to turn left onto Marina Bay Parkway at the signal light. Continue on Marina Bay Parkway, crossing Regatta Blvd. (4th traffic light). Turn left onto Bayside Drive. Continue to the end where there is a small area to park and a path that leads to the slough.
May 23 Eckley Pier Park*
Take I-80 East (North) to exit 27 onto Ponoma Street toward Crockett. Turn Left onto Ponoma Street. Take Ponoma Street through Crocket and continue heading east for about 2.5 miles. The sign for Eckely Pier is on the left. Drive down the road towards the water into the parking lot. There are picnic tables and restrooms in the park. There are views of the Carquinez Bridge, water, ships, an old, abandoned train depot from early 1900s and lots of hills and trees.
May 30: Kirston Koth’s Garden*
2646 Mira Vista St. El Cerrito – Kirston Koth has invited us to return to his beautiful backyard and paint there again! From San Pablo Ave., take Barrett Ave. up the hill and turn left (north) onto Mira Vista. OR follow Arlington Blvd. and turn down the hill at Barrett. Continue west toward the Bay for six blocks to Mira Vista and turn right. The painting site is on your right at 2646 Mira Vista. Go thru the gate at the right side of the house to enter the garden. *
